A cash receipt is a document that a store or a business establishment gives to the customer as a signal of the completion of a purchase or transaction. The receipt usually contains the company name and address, the date the transaction has been effected, and the amount of the goods or services which is the subject of the transaction.
Some business establishments issue a sales receipt indicating the quantity and type of goods bought or the duration and kind of services performed including the price per unit.
